Molding Chocolate!

Have you ever been to a restaurant where they serve a tiny luscious piece of chocolate at the end of the meal?
They do that in Paris and now I know how they do it!

 Molds!!
Who knew I could become Willy Wonka?
I am using EasyMold to make my molds...and don't forget, if you make a mold for food, it should only be used for food.  The molds I pour resin into are kept separate.  If I really like a new mold I make two!  One for resin and one for food.

How to use EasyMold post is linked here.

This project is the cause of a weight gain.

Melted chocolate....yum.  Have you any idea how great the kitchen smells?  These little artistic chocolate pieces would look fabulous on a cake.

They are fun to make and you can eat any mistakes.

Hello! I absolutely love your blog and have been so inspired by your projects. I am having a little trouble with Envirotex Lite in some of my projects and wanted to ask your advice. I have been using it in molds but in multiple pours since it isn't for deep ones- the problem I am having is with the clarity. Some pieces tend to have so many tiny bubbles as to just look sort of cloudy or as if there were glitter in the resin. I blow on the resin through straws but I still have the problem with some pieces. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much and keep all these fantastic ideas coming!!!

Hi Joelle, be careful not to "whip" your resin when mixing. I gently but thoroughly mix..."folding" more than stirring. I also prefer to pass a flame (from a lighter) quickly over my resin to de-bubble-it...you won't believe how much quicker that is.

Thanks. The whipping is absolutely what I have been doing. Not intentionally but I have been so concerned with mixing it well enough that I have been a bit too vigorous. I will try to control myself :) I will also see about trying the lighter thing- I have been nervous to try that as I can be just a little accident prone. I knew you would know what I was doing wrong. Off to try again.
